[ARCHIVED] Snow Emergency Declared - 02/09/2020

February 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. - the City of Saint Peter has declared a snow emergency that will take effect at midnight.

There is NO PARKING allowed on any posted snow emergency route for the entire 48 hour period.

“Snow Emergency Routes” means the following: Jefferson Avenue from Minnesota Avenue to the west corporate limits; College Avenue from Minnesota Avenue to Seventh; Grace Street from Fourth Street to Sunrise Drive; Broadway Avenue from Third Street to Gardner Road; Traverse Road from Washington Avenue to Nicollet Avenue; Saint Julien Street from Minnesota Avenue to Washington Avenue; the entire length of Washington Avenue from intersection of Highway 169 to Bunker Lane: Sunrise Drive from Grace Street to Dodd Avenue; North Sunrise Drive from Dodd Avenue to Mason Street; and Nicollet Avenue from Highway 22 to Highway 99.

Beginning at 12:00 midnight, for 48 hours, there is NO PARKING on residential streets from midnight until 7:00 a.m. even if the roadway has been plowed curb to curb.

Beginning at 2:00 a.m., for 48 hour hours, there is NO PARKING on downtown streets from 2:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. even if the roadway has been plowed curb to curb

The following municipal lots may be used during a snow emergency:

Next to City Hall at 227 South Front Street

West of the CenturyLinkBuilding on South Front and Nassau Streets

Directly behind Ace Hardware and Godfather’s Pizza in the 200 block of South Minnesota Avenue

East of the building at 201 South Third Street in the alley

Jefferson Park

The Department of Public Works building at 405 West Saint Julien Street

Municipal Lot #5 at the corner of South Minnesota Avenue and Grace Street

Municipal swimming pool parking lot on the 300 block of North Fourth Street.

Many churches and businesses also have privately owned lots which might be used with the owner’s permission.  Parking permits will not be issued during a snow emergency except for medical emergencies.  Please note….Vehicles which violate snow emergency regulations will be ticketed and may be towed at the owner’s expense.
