On Saturday, July 25, a statewide face covering ordinance (Executive Order 20-81) goes into effect requiring people in Minnesota ages six and older to wear a face covering in all public indoor spaces. This includes business conference rooms and reception areas unless the person is alone.
Some items within the executive order:
• Children six and older must wear a face covering. Children ages two to five are encouraged to wear one.
• Workers are required to wear a face covering when working outdoors if social distancing cannot be maintained.
• Education and compliance remain a goal. However, failure to comply may lead to criminal charges and individual fines of up to $100 for individuals and $25,000 for businesses.
