LED Light Bulb & Fixtures Rebate

LED bulbs save money, energy and help protect the environment. The LED light bulb rebate is scheduled to run until December 31, 2023. If everyone used LED bulbs, we could reduce the amount of electricity needed for lighting by more than 50%. To obtain your rebate bring in your receipt with the bulb packaging showing the Energy Star logo, bulb wattage and bulb quantity to the Finance Department.

For each LED bulb, get a rebate of 50% of your cost up to $7 each. This rebate will be applied to your electric bill.

Residential Appliance Rebates

The City of Saint Peter, in conjunction with Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency, offers rebates on selected Energy Star appliances including:

  • Air Source Heat Pump
  • Central Air Conditioners - Qualifying central air conditioners must have seer ratings of 14.5 or higher
  • Clothes Washers
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Dishwashers
  • Freezers
  • Furnace Fan Motor
  • Ground Source Heat Pump
  • Light Fixtures
  • Refrigerators
  • Room Air Conditioners

Program Guidelines & Requirements

Program guidelines and requirements are as follows:

  • Appliance must be an approved Energy Star model.
  • Appliance must be installed in the City of Saint Peter electric service area.
  • A dated sales receipt must be attached and submitted with the application.

Business Equipment Rebates

The City of Saint Peter, in conjunction with Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency, offers rebates on selected Energy Star appliances and equipment. To see a complete list of business rebates or for more information go to Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency website.

Central AC/Air Source Heat Pump Tune-Up Rebate

Program is available to residential and commercial customers (with “smaller” AC/ASHP units). The cooling capacity of qualifying units are required to be 5.5 tons or less to be eligible (no window or mini-split units). 

This program is available for tune-ups performed during the cooling season of April 1 through September 30.
