The Finance Department is responsible for a variety of tasks including meter reading, billing for municipal utilities, collection of bills, accounting functions for all City funds, payroll, monthly financial reporting, assessment searches, maintenance of investment records, maintenance of insurance policies, computer services, and employee benefits administration among others. The Director of Finance also serves as the City Treasurer.

The City of St. Peter operates on a $5.5 million general fund, .3 million library fund and .3 million community center fund. We operate the following eight enterprise funds with their corresponding budget amount:
