City Council Meeting Rules

The Saint Peter City Council meets in regular session on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Time has been set aside on the agenda for visitors.  Should you wish to comment or ask questions about an item already on the agenda or any item not listed, please do not hesitate.  When the Mayor asks for visitor comments, simply raise your hand and you will be recognized.

When commenting, we ask that you be courteous to all and that you limit your comments to an expression of concern or constructive suggestions.  Comments on non-agenda items will be directed to staff or a Council committee for research with no action until a following Council meeting.  If your concerns are deemed to be an emergency situation, the City Council may take immediate action on the item.  Should your presentation include a request for action by the Council or staff, it would be helpful if you could also provide a written request for this action.

Pursuant to City Council rules, we request that you limit your comments to five minutes.  The City Council has a great number of issues and concerns to deal with.  By being brief, yet specific, you allow us more time to expedite action pertaining to your concerns and the concerns of all Saint Peter residents.  In addition, if your remarks appear to have strayed beyond the scope of a constructive presentation, you may be interrupted and asked to conclude your comments.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

City Hall is open from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  If at any time you have questions, comments, concerns or need information of any kind, please feel free to stop in.  The City Administrator and City staff are happy to assist you. Thank you.
